This is the exact predicament I have been for my first year of Bikram. I am documenting what works and what doesn't work for me along the way. The diet experiment can be frustrating at times, but overall the sweat has sort of done the work for me. I agree with others that when I practice Bikram regularly, I crave less sugar and more savory foods. Like your blogging style. I am originally from Texas, as well!

I say just give in to cravings once in a while :)

Your body craves what it needs, and right now it needs a lil' bit more protein and iron!

i'm a strong advocate of listening to what your body wants. especially after i started looking into the nutrients that were in the things that i was craving. it was like my body knew exactly what i needed without having to do any research!

I am so glad to see you're not letting the (lack of) computer dictate your blogging. It fills me with such relief that you are finding peace on the dark side and just in time for the best meat-eating season of all, summer. I have noticed an amazing difference in your practice and attitude this week, and although Macro Mama's may still not hit the spot, their corn fritters will surely hit something this Saturday! xoxo

P.S. I, too, am craving much more beef than I ever have in my life. In addition, since starting my practice (this is week 2), I have lost all cravings for sweets and only want savory. My philosophy? Don't deny the body what it is screaming out to have.
